Eyesight, Collective Vision and Flow

On the heels of a series of synchronicities, our live gathering last week became a rich exploration of vision.

We dove into osteopathically inspired approaches to healing the eyes, improving individual sight, and expanding collective vision.

Inspiring stuff! Catalyzed by community.

Last week I received a call from a fellow in Canada who asked our healing group to send prayers and healing.

He shared that his many health challenges were so much better since joining our healing meditations, but his vision had just taken a turn for the worse. He said he wasn’t sure he would be able to use his computer for our weekly gathering.

It was wonderful that when Saturday arrived he was able to join, and so was another gal who was also having eye issues. That felt very synchronistic, as did the input from the ophthalmologist in our community who had much to say about the pitfalls of conventional eye treatments. None of this was planned, and much came of it! We dove into a group healing meditation, cultivated inspiration and optimism, and also reviewed . . .

We learned that . . .

💦 improving circulation (nutrients in, waste products out) is KEY to healing our eyes.

💦 how our midface reflects our nervous system, why tension headaches are felt there, and why we have jaw tension and eye strain when we’re stressed.

💦 a properly functioning tongue, which few people have and everyone deeply needs, can relieve much of this. This article summarizes the connection between tongue, posture and the brain and includes many do-it-yourself gems.

A few simple and helpful therapies NOT mentioned in the article above:

💦 Castor oil is safe, hydrating, anti-inflammatory, and feels AMAZING after computer work. I dedicate a sleep eye-mask to apply it at night. 

💦 You can rub your palms together and hold them over your eyes. Our hands have healing energy! I do this while resting, listening to podcasts, etc. 

💦 Exposing your eyes to a few minutes of light at sunrise and sunset is gentle and healing for your entire body. Sunrise light sets the clock on your hormones for the whole day!

💦 Protect your eyes from fake light after dark with blue light blocking screen filters, lenses and clothing so you don’t undo the powerful benefits of natural light! Candle light and firelight are so much better for your eyes and brain.
